The National Wildland Coordinating Group's Leadership Committee is excited to announce the theme for the 2021 National Wildland Fire Leadership Campaign. The 2021 campaign titled "Sharpening Your Tools" will highlight the 20th anniversary of the Wildland Fire Leadership Development Program.
Over the course of the year, we will journey back through our history and discuss the various tools you have at your disposal. Although the WFLDP officially kicked off in January 2002, NWCG tasked the Training Working Team with forming a task group to determine leadership development needs of the wildland fire service in 2000. That task group submitted their report in February 2001. The NWCG Leadership Committee was stood up in November 2001. Therefore, the Leadership Committee has selected 2021 as the year to celebrate the 20th anniversary. By the time 2022 rolls around, you will have a toolbox of well-sharpened tools to help us launch WFLDP 2.0.
Stay tuned here and on our Facebook and Twitter platforms for more information.
