We are honored to showcase "Becoming Authentic: The Heart of Leadership in Wildland Fire Management." This has been a work in progress for a couple of years, and we had hoped it make publication in time for the 2017 National Wildland Fire Leadership Campaign - Leading Authentically.

Alexis Waldron, Ph.D., is a human performance specialist for the Forest Service and member of the NWCG Leadership Subcommittee, with 10 years of experience as a seasonal firefighter; and Mike Alarid, former superintendent of the Bear Divide Hotshot Crew, was the district zone fire management officer on the Angeles National Forest, Los Angeles, CA (retired in 2015).
